    I am using PHP for a contact form. When you hit the submit button, you are redirected to the PHP file rather than having it process the PHP file. Here is the form tag: <form action='contact.php' method='post' enctype='multipart/form-data' name='contact'>

    I have used this file before and just interchanged the email variables. What did I do wrong?

    I'm not sure I understand your question, but in your example,
    when you click the "submit" button, it will send the form
    variables (using the POST method) to a PHP script called: "contact.php"

    In the same directory as your form, is a script called "contact.php"?
    There should be, because that's what you're calling it.

    That is what happens when you submit to a form. If you want to return to the page that the form is on you will need to redirect.

    The form is in the same directory as the php file. When I click submit, I am not getting the email either.

    I have the following code in the PHP file in order to redirect it:
    header("Refresh: 0;url=http://www.mywebsite.org/thankyou.htm");
