hey, I'm rather new to PHP (3 days..) and I was working on a site for my Outwar crew:
and I was wondering how I would go about using the form I have there (the log in one) to access the .htpasswd file, so they can log in w/o using the thing that automatically pops up when u try to access a restricted directory. because that thing is ugly :P

right now the form (w/input "user" and "pass") direct to login.php, but I have no idea what to put on that page so it will check to see if the user/pass combo is on my .htpasswd list

    thanks to anyone who helps!

Try searching for PHP and HTTP authentication (which is what's involved). You can't decrypt a .htpasswd file.
