    Hi Ganners

    I am quite familar with Javascript but not used it for a while so would be refreshing myself with it and jquery, not really used before

    I have copied the code above and am just uploading the page to the webserver so fingers crossed a user of the website can do a search for a property they are looking for and the coding above will search through the csv file for that property if available

    Does it make a difference that the search form is on a different page to the one with the coding above on

    Does that make sense, sorry if not

    I think I need a copy of your CSV file! Yes you can have the search part on any other page, just need to copy the <form></form> and everything in between, then add an action to the URL of the above script.

    Also, try copying the above script now and it should work. (I've edited the post)

    No probs, I can send you the csv file of mine, have you got a email address I can send it to

    Also when you say copy the <form></form> and everything in between, is that from the coding you did above, is that right

    I can send the coding for the search form I have on the other page as well if that helps

    Kind regards

    Ian

    Yes from the code above, or you can make up your own. As long as it puts ?search=something in the URL it will work. I've also amended the above script again.

    I'm off now so but can help tomorrow if need be, or someone else can take over.

    I can send the search form across as well if you need to see the coding for the search form and also the CSV file as well if you want to take a look at it ganners

    Thank you for all your help tonight Ganners, appreciate it so much

    only thing I might need help with is putting the search function from the coding you did above onto the other page as in the search from I have fields such as property type, location, number of bedrooms, number of bathrooms, min price and max price

    We can do that tomorrow if you want to and don't mind

    What time will you be on here roughly

    Thank you so much for all your help tonight

    Send it across anyway and I'll pick up on this tomorrow if no one else does. Bed time now! You could open the CSV in notepad and paste that into a code block on here as well if it's not too big for that.

    I'm trying to encourage some people to start using github, you should look into that if you get the time! Stuff like that helps in these circumstances where I could do with seeing your files.

    Code:
    <form action="http://www.2up2downhomes.com/saleresults.php" method="get" id="csv-filter">
    <div id="fieldnames">Property Type</div><input type="text" name="propertytype" size="25" maxlength="40"/>
    <br>
    <div id="fieldnames">Location</div><input type="text" name="location" size="25" maxlength="25"/>
    <br>
    <div id="fieldnames">Number of Bedrooms</div>
    <select name="bedrooms" id="bedrooms">
                    <option value="1" selected="selected">1</option>

                <option value="3" selected="selected">3</option>
