First download the PDFLib DSO and place it in your PHP extension directory. E.g. Assuming a windows development environment:

    C:\path\to\php\ext\

Then add the extension in your PHP ini file using the line: extension=pdflib_php.dll

Then restart your web server and you should be set.

Hi I did that and restarted my local server. Checked phpinfo() to see if it was listed after restarting local server, didnt see it there. One thing is that I'm not sure where to put the actual PDFlib folder which contains all the files. Any knowledge on where to put it? Using WampServer

You said folder. If your using a windows development environment you should have q dynamic link library (.dll) to place in the extensions directory?

Yes I have a .dll file to place in the path c:\wamp\bin\php\ext. I put it there but when restart my local server I did not see it listed. There should be a column that will show it is listed. Gonna try again.

Your trying to activate the extension using a third party piece of software - WAMP.

If you insert it into the php.ini yourself it should appear with no problems.

Ill try that and see if it works. Thanks

So I don't have to insert anything else. Just the .dll file for the extension and then the
extension=pdflib_php.dll - and this line must be unquoted?

Yes, theoretically it should appear on the WAMP list but I know from a lot of experience WAMP can be very temperamental.

I've just remembered Apache in WAMP has its own php.ini file which I believe is a replication of the original PHP file. Update your original php.ini file and then copy it over ensuring you make a back-up of the Apache version before doing so.

    C:\wamp\bin\apache\Apache[VERSION]\bin\php.ini

Okay. Also one other thing is that I checked the shortcut list to php ext from the wampserver Icon and it shows that it is ticked but I can't see it listed on Apache when it loads the home page.

I will update my Apache version now and check what happens
