It was a permission changing update to address previous security weaknesses.

There's a folder on most win7 machines called "program data", that was originally setup and intended for windows program data. But because of the original security settings, some 3rd party programs used this folder. It actually changed the attributes to hidden, and reset the permissions so no other program can read or write to that folder except MS Files.

They also changed some system level permissions considered security risk as 3rd party programs were exploiting their association with system32 files.

I've found several folders withing the system 32 structure, even when logged in as admin, I can't change permissions or take ownership of them... And several that I can no loner open.

Since most of the updates are about legacy permission levels... Perhaps re-installing WAMP will resolve ... But more than likely, since the typical WAMP install has always been on the root of the system drive, it may need to installed somewhere other than the root.

That makes perfect sense - I have found a couple of files I cannot access anymore -
I'm going to uninstall WAMP and reinstall it

All sorts of fun - mostly in the garden and at the stables - no joy with WAMP yet, though...
