    Can you add php code to a .shtml file?

    If the site is hosted on an apache server you might be able to configure the php parser to look at .shtml as well as .php .phtml etc. but I'm not exactly sure if that would work or if the ssi would stay intact.

    Just adding php code to a .shtml file without any server-end configuration wouldn't work though.
