    I have a site that features a short 'news' section on it.
    It is rarely updated, maybe once a week max, but the problem is, the person who will be updating it is not that familiar with html in general.

    here is what an actual 'news' entry consists of (html view) :

    <p>
    This is the actual content
    <br>
    <span class="tagstyle">
    posted by User @ 11-21-2003: 8:18 PM
    </span>
    </p>

    I know how to do basic SSI's, and could set it up so they could just edit the data file, if need be, making a copy of the last entry and just updating the data, but is there an easier way for the end user? I was thinking something like this :

    a script that grabs the first line from the data file. uses it as the entry, converting links in it, to hrefs, then it reads the 2nd line, and puts it in the span.

    overcomplicated?
