How do you access mysql data on a page and still have that page's address bar title use .html as its extension and not.php. Example, WDF's first page does not display .php in the address bar.

One way of doing it is to make Apache parse .html files as PHP. I cannot remember the exact directive, but you should be able to find it by searching google...

THis is not recommended though as it makes ALL HTML files parsed, which can overload a server...

In Apache edit the .htaccess file in the directory you want .html extensions to be parsed as PHP:

    AddType application/x-httpd-php-html .html
    Action application/x-httpd-php-html /path/to/php

Of course if you have access to the httpd.conf file then you can put these directives in a directory container.

You can mod rewrite .php to .html and you link to html but php will show up.

Thanks for everyone's help on this, though I think it is far more involved than it is worth. I thought if it would have been simple than it could create a "cleaner" looking address bar. Also, I was just curious as to how sites accomplished it.

    Thanks Again!

It does that by mod_rewrite in a .htaccess file. The only reason I did it was to remove the sessionhash for key links, which makes Google happy.

simple reroute .php to .html or vice versa, link to .html and it accesses the php instead :-)
