    Is there any way to guage what percentage of your site visitors are on what speed internet connection? I'd imagine there could be a JS / Java / Flash web app you could tie into your page that tests it after all the regular content has loaded. Anyone?

    Or alternatively can anyone point me towards a source for this info? Google didn't yield much relevant info.

    If you match common IP subnets, you can guess what ISP people have, and then guess their connection speed. However, there's no absolute way of checking short of timing a download of a file.

    Odds are the slight majority of your viewers have broadband of some kind. However, you shouldn't assume they do.
