I am web design company and I dabble in SEO. Can anyone tell me what the typical time period is for sand boxing? I try to design sites that conform to all the basics of SEO, but still seem to be struggling with some domains that are 6 months old.

I edited your post to remove the links... if you want to advertise your company, put a link in your signature or post in the "Advertise" section. Thanks.

I wrote an interesting article about this. Some say it doesnt exist an some say its down to the competiveness of the market you are going for.

Six months seems to be the maximum length people have been talking about. Personally I havent ever come across it,

    Kind Regards

I have experienced anywhere from 1 week to 4 months. The site that took four months was using a domain that had previously been owned and abandoned.

I launched a new site back on August 6th.

I then changed the domain name on September 4th.

On September 26th the site was given a pagerank. Right after the pagerank was assigned, I saw around a 400-600% increase in traffic coming from Google. Perhaps the "sandbox" effect only lasts until Google updates their ranking of sites, which appears to be somewhat random.
