I have read some information on embedded links for videos and images. Is it possible to have a link within an image so if someone copies the image from your site and puts it on theirs it will carry the link with it?

I don't think this is possible. If somebody copies the image and puts it on their site, the name of the image may be www.image.com but the overall address for the image will be something like www.website.com/page.html/www.image.com.
To have the image as a link one could use the hotspot tool in DW but it is not possible to 'lock' an image so to speak like you are suggesting (that I know of).

I also don't think that this is possible, to embed a link within the picture... Hmm, if it is possible it still won't be of any help with increasing serp... maybe increase traffic...

There is kinda a way.... Well at least it serves the same purpose..

First of all set-up leach protection on the images in question so only YOUR URL can be the referer... Then set up a simple web page with the link and image setup... Then have people IFRAME that page with the linked image and you have an image that can't be ripped off easily, and the link will always be there...

Danny: The pic would still be in their cache, defeating any protection.

waikoloavrm: watermark your photos. Won't help with SEO, but it may get you more traffic.

Yeah, I was more or less thinking of "offering" the image out there as the iframe so you wouldn't be giving people the excuse to rip off the image... offer it free and say "iframe it" and keep your link in there, there should be no problems.
