    Hello,
I have a news website and sometimes, not all the time, I come accross an interesting press release by a company on my subject and therefore display it as a news entry. These are displayed on many sites on my subject area, same releases word by word. So, when I include such a press release will I get penalized for duplicate content?

You'll get penalized for copying content. You should summarize the article or present a preview and a link back to the original.

There is no penalty for duplicate content in my book if you have enough users that read your article. The time they spend on your site will give you a google boost.

Press release helps you in generating traffic to your website. But according to the latest guidelines about Press Releases you need to follow these rules before posting to any press release site.

    * Do not post any do follow url into your post.
    * Do not put anchor link in your posting.
    * Use only No Follow url into your press release, no anchor link nothing just a no follow link.
