How do you compare data in google webmaster tools?

I was curious if it is possible to compare impressions and clicks in google webmaster tools to "previous year". I believe by default it give you a comparison of "previous period". I know you can do this in analytics, but I am not seeing it in webmaster tools. Any input would be appreciated.

Unfortunately, you don't...the data only goes back 3 months.

Supposedly you can download the data using an API and then you'd be able to do what you wanted...I just haven't bothered to try it to see if it's true or how it works yet.

Yeah, pretty interesting. You would think that is a basic feature they would have. I see you can download the data to excel and then maybe make your own correlations, but odd that they do not offer something simple like analytics does.

I guess is there another site or area where you could see the historical impressions for a given term?
