Web 2.0 is the second stage development of the internet, mainly described by the change from static websites to dynamic or user generated content. It's also an improvement to design and the software used to design websites. You would include the growth of Social Media when describing web 2.0 too.

Web 2.0 is out of the door pretty much now though. Web 3.0 is what you need to concentrate on: https://1stwebdesigner.com/what-is-web-3-0/.

Web 2.0 was a buzzword from 12 years ago that assholes used to sell web development services.

Using this information, imagine what "Web 3.0" means...NOTHING. None of it means anything. Never did, never will.

No edtech, you should forget the phrase Web 2.0 ever existed. Ronald is right, it was an annoying buzzword from years ago that meant nothing then and means nothing now. If you even see the phrase Web 2.0 these days, I'd suggest you are reading an article or book that is significantly out of date.

There are many kinds of backlink activities for off page method as you mentioned about Web 2.0, article submission, profile backlink, Press release. In my eyes Web 2.0 is the best plat form to get backlinks because high authority domain and page will boost your page on Search engine.
There are many high authority domain sites as WordPress, Blogger that allow us to establish web 2.0 to create our pages with a unique URL Making your presence on these platforms will help you reach a wider audience for your website.

Now Web 2.0 is really starting to mean a combination of the technology (like AJAX) allowing the customers to actually interact with the information. Web 2.0 is starting to mean the situation where amateur writers and developers are able to create applications and Web sites that get more credibility than traditional news sources and software vendors.

"Now Web 2.0 is really starting to mean a combination of the technology (like AJAX)" What is this based on? Ajax has been used in it's current form in combination with HTML for well over a decade so unless you're reading a web developer magazine article from around about 2004 then it's already meant that for about 14 years.

Web 2.0 isn't starting to mean anything, it stopped meaning anything at all, in around the mid 2000's when they stopped using it as a buzz word to talk about technologies that are now the run of the mill standards.

If anyone is worried about Web 2.0 I would seriously consider investing the time to catch up with the past 10 years worth of standards as they have clearly passed you by.
