Hi guys; I'm yet another one of these fool who is looking into the possiblity of hosting what do you guys feel is a good price for hosting and stuff?

I briefly came up with these packages what do you think?
    100mb space
    1gb transefer
    3 / $5 month

    200mb spacee
    5gb transfer
    5 / $8 month

    300 mb space
    10gb transfer
    7 / $11 month

    400 mb space
    15gb transfer
    10 / $16 month

all with the normal bells and whistels! php etc.

if you think i'm off the mark what would you want with what price? be reasonable though I know we would all like to have 5000mb space 50gb transfer etc. for a fiver.

I think you're pretty much there although I doubt few people would get the 1 GB transfer plan just because that's simply not enough for most sites, even ones starting out. The space also seems a bit high unless it includes the size of the MySQL dbs.

filburt's right. You may want to lower your space levels and increase your transfer levels. Other than that, it depends on the additional features and infinitely more importantly, the support, the support, the support and did I mention the support?

Eh...to tell you the truth, not even half of it. Like, maybe several hundred megabytes. My site is so new and I don't get a ton of traffic, and since that was the lowest plan my host offers (www.hostrocket.com), I decided to go with it, especially since it was such a good deal and it will give me a LOT of growing space.

Hummm, its becomming clear to me that hosting compaines that offer really high ammounts of bandwidth are banking on the average user not to use that much bandwidth. Its just so they can have bigger numbers than the rest of there compition.

i have 1000mb bandwith and 30mb space, with lots of other features for 15 quid, although it can be upgraded to 125mb space and 2000mb bandwith for 30 extra and 25 extra for every 100mb space after that or 1.25 a month for 500mb space. (prices are yearly by the way)
