    I really ought to know this. What does it mean for a DNS to propogate? Does this mean the time it takes for it to clear? Thx!

    Basically yes. For a domain to propogate, it means that the domain's DNS entries have to be distributed to every ISP in the world. Since that's a huge list it doesn't happen in real time (usually once or twice a day) so hence you get the delay.
