Hey there. I am currently hosted at tripod for right now since they offered a special and it is everything that I need so far for hosting my music stuff (which is basic HTML and java) but I was interested in learning other langauges; currently (Which has been a long time) tripod only offers Perl and CGI scripting, which unfortuately I don't know about right now. I have a book, and earlier I hosted a forum and learned a lot about PHP and MySQL which was all very interesting that that I though I could utilize later in weblife.
However, I also have my email through that domain ( for example) which I have for everything and would hate to use per se if I moved my domain name and other info to a new hosting place or business. My question is this, can I move my domain name while it's still under the 1 year being bought thing and how, and also can I still keep my email addresses? is it just a sequence of plugging in stuff to get it moved?

You can transfer the domain name, but this usually costs you money. Not a lot but it isn't free. I have done it in the past, there should be an option somewhere within either you domain name cp or host cp that says transfer. I'm not 100% sure because it is different for every host and domain name register.
