At last check: http://www.liquid2k.com/ (very unreliable) and http://www.internations.net/ (sneaky). There's no such thing, really.

theres a few around, but most are extremely unreliably, i used a few before, and when you use up even the smallest amount of their bandwidth, they kick you off

Let's put it this way: You get what you pay for.

For $2/month you can be on www.i-hostingsolutions.com, so you might as well pay for hosting.

http://www.brinkster.com does it for free with no ads and they are pretty stable. The reason is because they cap the bandwidth transfer daily (50 MB/month approx. = 1.67 MB traffic per day, and this is what they give you.)

If you're OK with web-based transfer, and for whatever reason you don't want to pay for hosting, www.infhost.com is great (in contrast to other free hosts). They don't cap your bandwidth, because their main source of revenue appears to be referring poeple to sign up for the SearchTraffic affiliate program (and getting 5% of the commissions), so they benefit from hosting popular sites. They've been up for over two years, but at the moment their Sign Up link is broken (I'm not sure if this means they're not accepting new sign ups or are just stupid),

Nevertheless, I still can't stress enough the importance of paying for hosting. Your site can only be as good as your host.

But if you still don't want to pay (personal site?), here is a list of 124 free hosts without ads. That site also has a search feature.

This would depend on how much your site matters. If you're just messing around, trying to learn things, then go with a free host and abuse the resource until you know how to do what you were trying to do properly. Then get a paid host. This way, you don't get an account cut off for improper coding or excessive resource usage or something.

Oh, I didn't even think of that. In that case, I agree with TheGame1264.
