I've got a new client who presently uses a company called ICN Consulting for hosting. For some reason, the name rings a bell to me in a bad way but I can't think of why for the life of me. I was wondering if any of you had heard of the company or dealt with them for hosting, and if they're any good.

    Thanks.

One way to find out: is it censored at WHT? I can't find anything negative on Google (can't find any review, actually).

I'm trying to avoid WHT if at all possible, due to the direction it's taking. I'm thinking of making the same request at HostHideout (former WHT mod Chicken's new board) but I'll wait and see if the answer my question first.

Heh, ditto, I didn't like the atmosphere very much so I stopped visiting.

Cutthroat would imply that the rest of the body remains intact.

I've never heard of ICN, though it's typically a good idea to stay away from hosts who provide design services also. Why create competition for yourself?

I don't agree with it either, normally, but they never bothered to contact this client in the time it's been up there (probably because it's not using resource), and they're claiming that they're not going to charge him any more for custom 404, ASP, and MS Access for a backend (they will charge more for SQL Server but the guy can get away without it so I'm not gonna bother.) I don't totally believe they can pull off all that they're claiming AND what I want for $10 USD but we're gonna find out in a damn big hurry.

Agreed. I still can't believe how much money some Joe-Bob-Look-At-Me-I'm-Professional hosts are making with crappy plans for $30/month. You know something's wrong when they measure bandwidth in MEGABYTES. ("And we have 100MB of yearly bandwidth on our accounts to handle high traffic sites!")
