    When you say "my server" do you mean your computer that you've install apache or something of the like to use it as a server or do you mean that you paid for hosting and need to upload the file onto "that" server?

    no i mean a computer we turned into a server using apache, php, and mysql. we dont know how to make it so that when people go to roboticwaterfalls.com they see the site. and also so that people can log in to the forums of our site.

    You'll need an ISP that allows you to create a server first. You're talking about sort of making your own mini-hosting, and I don't recommend this if you're just developing a site. I suggest you just use hosting, or use a dedicated hosting service (which usually comes with servers especially for you and trained professionals).
