What features do you need, and how much are you willing to pay?

I want a fairly cheap one for now, with just all around good features. Speed would obviously be good and no annoying pop ups. The space doesn't really need to be that great but a few above have around 600 which sounds good.

You have to be careful when going w/ cheap hosts, as they may not be around long enough for them to fulfill your contract. I use an inexpensive host for my portfolio website, Dinsol, and I reviewed them here. As far as cheap hosts go, I wouldn't pay much less than Dinsol if you want your site to be up for any reasonable amount of time.

United Hosting are one of the cheaper hosts I'm with for the space you get - but they've actually got superb support.

(my comparative-religion site is hosted with them)

    Good Hosting Deal

Rock River Design has hosting with unlimited bandwidth and unlimited storage. This means that it's a flat rate and you don't have to worry about extra data transfer charges if your site becomes popular. It's $35/ Month. If you're interested just e-mail me at spammy@crappyhost.com

They've been around for over 5 years and are here for the long run. So you don't have to worry about the company going under or anything of that sort.

You have to make sure you get a package that will allow you to expand.

Think ahead, will you be starting more websites. Will your site traffic be increasing. Either get a bigger package than you need, or ask the host if they are flexible, will you be able to buy more disk space/bandwidth if you need to.

    How much will it be?

Also often cheaper hosts, have lesser servers. They may only be $4.99/month for 3gb Space, and 10gb bandwidth - but there server may crash, be slow or have other problems.
