I have a situation which i need help on.

I have just taken over possession and overall control of my local explorer scout groups website. Their current domain, which is a .org.uk domain expires on the 29th october, and is registered in the name of a person who is no longer associated with the unit.

I need to purchase a new domain, and was thinking of doing this through the same company that i purchase hosting from. Is this a good or bad idea?

I've searched through magazines and the internet, and have come up with the following hosts/domain registrars, and wondered if anyone would share their opinions on them. (I'm in the UK, so I'd prefer not to use GoDaddy or something).

I know i need PHP support because they need a password bit and I want a contact form where the scouts can send emails telling me about events they wish to organise, and also MySQL for the password protection - this is all enabled on all accounts I have thought about, do you have any others that are worth following?

I would get a .org.uk domain (10 for years), and I would require the standard account, plus 20MB extra storage & 1GB extra transfer (total 50MB/2GB (extra 10/year)

I feel that the Home package is enough for their needs, any queries? I would get a .org.uk domain - 1.99 per year for 2 years.
If anyone else has any ideas or a well established web host that i have not mentioned please post them in replies to this thread.

    I understand that 1&1's prices exclude VAt - I don't know about 34sp.com?

Thanks in this matter would be greatly appreciated.

I'd recommend using a separate domain registrar from the host. Nothing against the host, but I have seen it countless time that when someone cancells his/her hosting account, they have a heck of a time trying to get through to the host to manage their own domain. If you don't want to use GoDaddy, etc., find a UK based domain registrar.
