    People,

Looking to switch Web Hosting services for my music web site. My existing service only streams RealAudio; & I would like to move to a service that offers Windows Media as well . . . perhaps even a service that is tailored to digital musicians' websites.

    Any tips will be appreciated.

    Thanks,

    mark4man

    Check out www.interland.com
I think they offer both real server and windows media server on their medium plan (at the not-so-reasonable rate of about $50/month)

    transio,

    Thanks.

    Yeah . . . that's a little too rich for my blood.

I'm trying right now to find a hosting service offering just Windows Media Server (once I saw the going rates, that is.)

    Thanks again,

Wouldn't you need to pay more monthly to stream media files due to large bandwidth usage?

I actually found a hosing service (Akira Web) which offers 512 MB storage, 25GB transfer; & Windows Media Server . . .

    ...for $9.95 per month!

I'm checking it out, right now.

    Thanks,

Are these hosters using "Shoutcast," well if they aint just go to a shoutcast hoster. Moslty uses Winamp, but look at this, Winamp uses less MBRAM on your computer so it doesn't slow anyone down and most people use Winamp. Thats why I use winamp.

    Cheddah,

    Thanks.

Is ShoutCast real time streaming, or download/pay for play?

    I'll check it out.

    Shoutcast is stream.

    Hosters:
    http://fast-serv.com/web/?action=shoutcast_hosting
    http://www.b2netsolutions.com/shoutcast-hosting.htm
    http://qc1.net/?page=faq

P.S. I looked throught these using Yahoo. Also don't believe that most plans cost like $3.00 dollars and such. Thats for the bitrate of the streaming, but how many listeners you have on the shoutcast will cost you more. I suggest you use Hoster URL #2, It explains more better and such.

Just an FYI Cheddah: They're called hosts, not hosters.
