I'm paying 12 a year for my domain (aspit.net), which would be $12 I think. Am I paying too much, or is that a reasonable price? I thought it was pretty cheap.

Also, I'm paying another $5 or $10 a year for DNS forwarding, but I'm not totally sure about this.

So to sum it up, I pay about $20 a year for my domain (.net). Resonable or am I being conned? (Note that I registered my domain in Holland, so that *might* add a bit more).

It's reasonably expensive...http://www.godaddy.com/ , one of the best and cheapest registrars, was only $8.95 at last check.

But $20/year is a ripoff, unless that's the best it gets in Holland.

I'm thinking that's the best you can get in Holland; web hosting in Holland is very expensive as well (1GB transfer, 50MB -> $20 a month:devious

Think beyond cost and think about service and support, you get what you pay for. I use 000domains an open SRS reseller and what I do not have there already is currently being transferred to them. They charge $13.50 per domain and have stellar service and support.

I think there is no reason to pay $13.50 or more when you can get far better prices from enom and resellers of enom. Great prices and a full list of free addons.

enom charges $29.99, which last I checked was worst than $13.50. http://www.enom.com/pricing.asp

I have 1 .net, 1 .com and 1. org, all of them with an OpenSRS reseller. $12.99 per year. However lately I bought a .us from GoDaddy for about 7 bucks. Thinking about transfering my other domain to them too.

I will agree with filburt1(i am always agreeing with him :classic: .) I also use godaddy and pay $ 8.95 /year. They are the best. I think you pay quite much ...

    Enom is great for registrations.

They only charge $8.95/USD and if you are a reseller or get a cheper account you can even register domains for less than that.

That's what I did, and I pay less than $8.85/USD

Plus enom has free forwarding and pointing. It's a great service.

I just registered with godaddy for a domain. I have the domain for ten years at a price totalling around $67
I believe that is really cheap!!!

Edit: And, I had the domain registered with godaddy in one day. The hosting nameserver stuff will be ready by tommorrow. I will have my site up in two days flat!!!
    Cheers, zionlocke :chinese:
