    Hi,

I'm gonna make a website which will have free counters, forums, quizes, etc. How do you think "(I've deleted this now cos I dun want people nickin it)" sounds? Can you think of any other names? Do you think .net or .com would be best?

    Cheers,

    -Ed

It sounds cool but be sure to buy a name that is directly related to what your site offers. For example webmasterresources.com (which I bet is taken).

Get the .com if you can, .net if you can't.

Maybe you should buy two domains, something directly related to your website, with a .com suffix, and a cool name (e.g hypercloud) with a .net suffix.

Agree with all the above and if it's in the budget get the .com & .net to cover your bases :cheeky:

some releated words to play with:

    hit
    page view
    stat
    count
    bot
    traffic

Whatever you do don't get one of those new TLDs like biz, tv, etc. Not only are they stupid () but they actually cost more.

Thanks, all your replies are really useful. I wil probably go for .com and .net.

This is such a well designed, cool looking, feature packed, free and add free website by the way!

    Domain name rules:
    1) The shorter the better.
    2) Generic keywords - better for SE.
    3) .com > .net > .org > .info > .biz
    4) Easy to remember.
    5) Avoid puns - eg. gr8.com - you should be able to say it, and not have to spell it out.

    He arrives!

    6. No trendy words like "fusion", "plasma", or stuff ending with "z" that normally ends with "s" (workz, etc.)

I would have gone with rule 3 for this site but some loser took .com and put an unrelated portal there with ads all over the place :/
