    ".tk" Sites *STICKY ME*

I've seen many personal sites using the redirection service ".tk".
However; many are unaware of how to remove the popup ad. I figured I'd post the procedure to save me, or anyone else for that matter, the trouble of telling everyone individually.

    Procedure
go to http://my.dot.tk > login > go to "My Marketing" at the bottom > check 'no' on popup

Hope this helps the ".tk'ers"... Removing the popup is a huge plus!

Well its not really that bigger deal to be honest, not many people on this board are big fans of the .tk names.

I dont see whats wrong in just going out a paying a few quid a year for a much better .com name in the first place.

I moved this to the Domain names and hosting forum, but I'm not sure it's worth stickying. Daniel's right, a lot of members here don't like the .tk sites, they aren't very professional. The difference between a .com and a .tk is enormous, and well worth the $8 difference.

WHAT ARE YOU TALKIN ABOUT? the only difference is the letters after the ' . ' There is absolutely no difference between a .com and a .tk.... for those who don't like em, well... im sorry i think you need to get off the bandwagon... why should we spend money on a domain name if we aren't using the site for making money? doesn't seem logical to me. seriously though... tell me whats wrong with a .tk
hell if you think about it its shorter than a .com so...

A .tk domain is incredibly different from a normal TLD: it's extremely unprofessional. Essentially, you do not own the name, which implies that your business cannot even afford the $7 to register one of the three common TLDs.

All I'll say is you get what you pay for. If you use a free host and a free domain (actually, just a redirector), you will get absolute crap for service and features. Period.
