I want to get a Domain Name for my Web Development Portfolio, and i'm not sure on what i really want my name to be. I originally wanted EnderWeb.com but it has already been taken, and supposedly .NET names won't do as well as their .COM counterparts. Seeing as i am from the UK, i was thinking on using a Country Specific Domain Extension, such as Ender.co.uk, which i think sounds good, but say i wanted to work with an American or Canadian based comany, would the UK put them off, considering it's not local work? I've been thinking of good names to use for a portfolio, and so far Ender.co.uk seems to be a good choice. Would any of these domain extensions affect my rabking on Google either?

I say go with a .co.uk domain name - if you're doing business with someone, they need to know where you live, so even if you have a .com and you lived in the UK, you'd be turned down for the same reasons.

Very good. I also have all of the sequels which are much more philosophical and weird (i.e., worse).

    I would go with a co.uk, personally...

Espically if you consider that most visitors to your site would be referred by a friend or by a co-worker, so the .com as a memory thing wouldn't be a problem...

Also, I don't think any less of a site on it's affix. If it's a good site, with good service, who cares what the URL is (unless it's we-do-crappywork.com)?

I started reading the second, and got weirded out after a few chapters.

Would the Search Engines care? I always thought that any other prefix would end up below the almighty .com
