I have a site on a free geocities account.
Right now, I have a .tk domain, and I want a .com
I have already found the name I want that's availible
I want the domain to just direct to my site,
But the domain registration always has web hosting and such.
I just want the domain, I don't want to pay monthly for web hosting
How do I just buy a domain name that just directs to my site,
And will the domain change to my geocities when it arrives at my site?
I also want it to be cheap.

    Can you help me?

www.godaddy.com has a free domain forwarder as far as I can remember. Basically it changed www.domain.com to www.geocities.com/blablah/balblah/blah.html

I wouldn't recommend hosting a site at Geocities. In fact, I would strongly recommend against it.

You could try www.34sp.com. Hosting and a domain will cost you around 35.

directnic.com is also a great place to register domain names.

http://www.simpleurl.com/ is pretty cheap. It's about 12 clams a year.

However, I'd suggest you just buy the Geocities package if you have your free site already there, as you really don't want a domain name forwarding to a site with pop-up ads and banners.

What did you try? I have several domains through GoDaddy, and while I don't use it, the option is definately there to forward my domain to any URL I want. The geocities address will show up for users in the address bar, but it will still work unless GoDaddy has a special block on Geocities (which would make no sense).

Erm.. yeah. This thread is 1 month old, answered a long time ago. -.-

Yeah Ive tried when registering a domain, so I just bought one of theirs. It wouldnt work for some reason, maybe it was me? I dont know, but it kept giving me errors. I thought it would be better to get a better hosting account anyways.
