I found the web domain I want. It's a .com, but someone just bought it. They have their adress and telephone. Should I call them to try and buy it from them or what? Or should I come up with a new name?

How badly do you want the domain? It may not be worth it to go through the trouble of buying the domain off the guy who just bought it.

Try a .ws (more fashionable ).
I agree with filburt1. If you buy it from the guy the price will be higher than buying a new domain .

I completely disagree. Do not get one of the new TLD extensions like .biz, .tv, .ws, etc. Instead, just change the name you want. Everybody knows what .com, .net, and .org are, but most new users have no clue what these new TLDs are.

If that doesn't work, you can always put a hyphen in the name wherever the words end (e.g. web-design-forums.net). The downside to this is that it doesn't lend itself well to offline promotion ("web dash design dash forums dot net" is hard to say.)
