Hi Guys, i am fairly new to all this, but i have just had my site designed www.sportspunters.com and I am on a 1.5 gig per month limit.
In the first weeks we used 600gig, so looks like we are going to have to move.
Unfortunately the site isnt making any money (Yet) and i am very low on cash. Would i be able to get something in the region of 15 per month?

I have no idea of have you get the bandwidth in one week, as the forums hasn't more than 120 posts, but the hosting you are one is really expensive.

    That looks neat.

    I think you mean 600MB?

www.34sp.com is strongly recommended for hosting by JR (a WDF moderator), starting at just 15 per year. There are many more hosts out there also.

jlyl is right. It's probably closer to 600 MB than 600 GB. If you ran that in a few weeks, your host would be calling you absolutely demanding that you get a dedicated server for your site just because of the resource consumption.

Having said that, 1.5 GB isn't a particularly high figure and should be upgradeable to around 3 GB per month and be well within your budget. If not, Sectorlink (the company where my dedicated box is with) can handle 3 GB for I think around 4 pounds per month (I don't know where that pound sign thing is on my Canadian keyboard, nor do I know the conversion rate, so you'll have to deal).

They're also undergoing a network upgrade for their bandwidth, so it will be 400% what it was before (which means I get 4 times as much bandwidth to play with...not that I need it yet, but it's nice to have it for a couple of months down the road when I do).

The only part I'm not 100% sure about (since I'm only a customer) is what the minimum plan is for your subdomains and board. I think it's one of the $16.99 US ones (around 11 pounds sterling), but you'd really have to ask them.

Any way you look at it, they're a decent host and they've been around for at least 4 years (I've been with them 2). That's enough right there.
