    Apparently WDF is not accepting external tutorials to avoid becoming an SEO farm. While I understand their stance, I disagree with this guideline for multiple reasons (mostly because we're going to post the articles to our blog anyway, and we don't want to be penalized for duplicate content).

    Anyway, for those of you who want to read part 2, it's here: Designing a Professional Website from Scratch

    If you're enjoying this series so far, please subscribe to our feed for future parts, as we will no longer post them on the forum (because WDF won't let us).

    Thanks for reading!

    Thank you. I've noticed that a lot of users on this forum have some really basic questions, so I thought that I would help them out by stepping through the process from beginning to end. Plus, it steps through some simple methods that I use all the time, but someone else might not have thought of doing. I just hope these are helpful, as they do take some time to write.

    Good work

    I have been investigating the 960 grid for a while now, and this is one of the clearest examples I have seen.

    I know a lot of this stuff has been said online before but many of the tutorials I have read seem to assume a level of understanding that frankly I was lacking. In this case the logical flow of detailed information really helped me to understand.

    I have bookmarked it for future reference.

    Thanks.

    Imagine if he tried to post that sucker here, besides duplicate content that would ultimately shatter the value of having original content on his website.

    Your tutorial needs a part two by the way. Well explained and great method to create websites. I do the same thing. It's fast, efficient and easy.

    I'd ask you to be a blog contributor on my blog for tutorials with links to your site, but maybe you want to sve your mind for yours.

    let me know.

    thanks @yousaysomething, for the compliments and the offer.

    by the way, part 2 is here: <removed - please see new rules for the articles area>

    I need to put a link at the bottom of the first part, I just haven't gotten to it yet.

    Very nice! I personally do not need such a tutorial, but i was curious so i began reading! Next thing i know i had photoshop open and was doing some testing. That is essential for a great tutorial, well done!

    All websites should start on the 960. You don't realize how much easier it makes things months/years from now.
