In this tutorial I will teach you how to export your website from Photoshop to an HTML file for just 4-5 mins.

In this tutorial I will teach you how to export your website from Photoshop to an HTML file for just 4-5 mins.

    1. Open up your website. (Fig. 1)

    http://www.webdesignforums.net/attac...achmentid=4368

    2. Click on the Slice Tool and select the parts you want to divide it to. Be precise and practice this step until you get the idea of using slices. (Fig. 2)

    http://www.webdesignforums.net/attac...achmentid=4369

    3. After finished click File -> Save for Web. Then configure your image settings. I used GIF's, but if you have more colors or a picture it's recommended to use JPG. (Fig. 3)

    http://www.webdesignforums.net/attac...achmentid=4370

    4. Then click Save, choose your destination and save the file. Photoshop will make an additional folder with all the images inside.

THIS IS THE END...I HOPE IT HELPS

TIP: If you have empty spaces on your website I advise you to delete the unwanted image material from the code and the folder.

If you can't open the images I added them as an attachment. Somenthing isn't clear? Ask here!... :classic:

How do you add text to the spaces. It saved all the files and all that and looks fine, im just trying to figure out how to add text and such inside of the boxes.

Using something like Dreamweaver you can set the images as background.

Albeit this is a REALLY OLD THREAD! But!

None of the links to images work.

And this is soooooo not a good idea! The code that this creates is bloathed and not semantic at all. It makes use of tables for the layout which is a BIG NO-NO!

Instead of using PS to crate your site, using as a drafting tool ... like you would use the pen & paper.

Create your site using proper HTML and CSS.

*Maybe this tutorial could be deleted all-together?*

karinne, sorry this is a really old thread, written long before the Web 2.0 boom. To be honest - I forgot it even existed. There are far superior ways of exporting photoshop layers by now.

    Karinne,

I still use tables for layout and it works just fine. Also, PS + CSS + HTML + FLASH will really come in handy.

Although I must agree that this tute is quite old but noobs will learn a lot from the code that PS generates. Its a basic layout technique
