I just registered PunishMyBrowser.com (http://www.punishmybrowser.com/) because I needed to spend my PayPal money. I wanted to go with GoDaddy (http://www.godaddy.com/) because of the extremely low price and good past experiences but they don't accept PayPal. Since I don't have a credit card that was too bad.

Their website looks like a scam website, sadly enough. However it is functional and not too confusing. The actual registration process was very simple. The only part I didn't like as much as GoDaddy is whereas in the GoDaddy registration you can define the DNS right as you register, with Tucows you can't. You can only choose to park it or forward it to a different site and other options.

However the name propogated overnight, so the next morning I manually edited the DNS entries to point to DH because they would be hosting this site too. The name has propogated in the worldwide WHOIS databases, but my stupid ISP hasn't yet. I have to wait another day to see it in action.

So to sum up, if you can, go with GoDaddy. If for some reason you can't, mainly no credit card, go with Tucows.

Pros: Accept PayPal, not incredibly expensive, domain name was active the next day, IMHO better control panel than the Netsol one, easy DNS management, supposedly came with 5 MB storage, e-mail aliases, and web forwarding. That would be >$42 with Netsol.
Cons: Cheap site and name makes it look like a scam, even though it isn't, GoDaddy is cheaper by a lot but don't accept PayPal

Followup: I recently registered two more names with them with no problems and got to try their support for the first time, and was pleased. Also, I noticed that the new domains automatically inherited the DNS settings of the master domain, which is what I meant to do in the first place.

I wouldn't go with godaddy if they were the last registrar on earth. Who cares how cheap their domain names are. I'm sure I can come up with the extra $5 a year and register with some one with a good rep.

Indeed, three years later, I now prefer Namecheap and avoid GoDaddy.
