I'm a novice in the business, but finally getting a web design put together and looking for a web hosting server. Having done a little bit of research I've found "iPage" to be very highly rated. Right now they have a promotion if you register Sunday before midnight to be 2.95/month and from what I've read they even offer a 50 dollar credit for use in google adwords. I was just wondering if anyone else has experience/has heard about iPage and could shed some light on them as a server for me, or make any other reccomendations?

My web site is going to be about fantasy football, providing expertise and rankings and so forth. I plan on eventually trying to sign up for Google Adsense, so driving traffic and advertising is important to me, which is why I like the Adwords promotion. As far as bandwidth and stuff goes, I'm such a novice that I'm not sure how much I'll actually need but from what I've researched you definitely want unlimited in a server. As far as scripts are concerned, I'm not that far along that I need any for my site but in the future I may, so easy to use, one-click scripts would also be a benefit I suppose. But just something that will allow me to use a .com domain I get from go-daddy.com or perhaps get one for me will do. I'm looking for something relatively affordable ... Combining my domain name and the actually cost of the host, I'd like to keep it at a MAX of 50-60$ for the year which I think is reasonable. Search engine optimization, again, is a priority for me, that's something I'd like to get experience with.

So, based on what I'm looking for in the aforementioned paragraph, what web servers could you guys reccomend to me that meet those criteria, and again, has anyone heard of/used iPage? Any feedback would be much appreciated.

iPage is something I've never tried. But do yourself a favor and avoid webhostingpad.com. You can always try shovehost.com's advanced hosting plan but it's $9/month and it would be spamming to recommend it so let's just say I don't recommend it! just kidding.
HostGator is nice I've had a good experience with them but they are also more expensive than iPage.
Hosts I would recommend staying away from:
    -webhostingpad.com
    -bluehost.com
    -justhost.com

I have been hosting with hostmonster.com for years now, and have steered several of my clients to them, without any complaints.
I particularly like that they don't outsource their support, I have never been on hold for more than a couple of minutes when I call (often at 2 or 3 AM, or on weekends), and I have never had a problem they can't fix with just one call.
And they use Simplescripts rather than Fantastico for one-click installs, which offers more options for customizing the installs.
I am not an affiliate, although I wish I could be, but my tax situation won't allow it (I'm an American living and working in Canada, and they have no allowance for that).
