    Are you talking prettiest site, or best company?

    Best company is a no-brainer for me. www.sectorlink.com . 9.5 years with them (which is approximately 114 Internet years), I have a dedicated with them, a client of mine does as well, 3 have shared hosting accounts, and when I have questions, I actually get answers. And if you look at the posts I make here, you can imagine the relative difficulty and complexity of my questions. I routinely send retail stockpeople into epileptic convulsions because I melt their brains so thoroughly.

    Prettiest site? Not really sure. All the good ones look pretty much the same, and the original ones look kind of ugly to ugly.

    I've actually really taken a liking to HostGator http://hostgator.com/ I've moved my own host (shovehost.com) over to a HostGator Reseller Account. They've got heplful chat people, and none of the two sites I have on HostGator have ever gone down.

    I have used a number of hosts over the years. I used to take customer support for granted, it never used to factor into my decision because I felt that it was a crutch for 'lesser beings', lol. Not so much anymore, now its a very important feature that you NEED to have. Especially now that I work for a very prominent webhosting company and see the problems people run into every day. It is good to be able to pick up the phone or send an email, or open a browser and start chatting with somebody who knows what they are talking about anytime of the day, anyday of the year.

    Dont let hosting fees drive your decision either. The cost different between one host and another may be less than the cost difference of a cheap burger, but may determine the difference of your site doing down every time you sneeze.

    I would give specific suggestions, but I think it would be best to call the companies you are considering or try to go though their support system and see what experiences you get and let that play a big factor in your decision.

    Tier 1 support, maybe. If you need Tier 2 or higher (and I usually do), then you've got yourself a legit problem.

    Although if you get it escalated enough, it's kind of cool in a "wow, it dun brokded REAL gud" sort of way to know that your stuff's so messed up that you need an engineer to solve it. That's when you know you're smart...the front-liner reading things out of the training binder has no idea what you're talking about.
