Looking for some recommendation on the subject of managing invoicing from other freelancers - specifically those with reseller accounts. For a while now, I've been using a heavily modified WordPress plugin. It's good, but I'd really like something a little more powerful and it seems there are a few options that provide awesome APIs to tie directly into your cPanel/Reseller account. Of the few I've briefly checked out, boxbilling grabs my attention

I built my own timekeeper app in VB.net myself a couple of years back as a learning process, and it was the smartest thing I've ever done. Took me about a day, I can track whatever I want, and then I run a script that autogenerates and emails all of my bills for the month in .RTF format in about 2 minutes.

So to answer your question, I'd go the DIY route.

I used BoxBilling for a short while on keylime (then I pissed off all my customers when I switched to the tried-and-true WHMCS).
BoxBilling is buggy, has defective registrar modules, has an unresponsive forum, and all the admin who makes it says about feature requests is that it will be in the next version then he disappears...

Does your cpanel have access to PHP Point Of Sale? I have tried it and WHMCS and both are nice, in my honest opinion

I would suggest WHMCS-It's what we use at Hostwinds, and even as a newbie to billing systems I found the interface user friendly and effective.
