    I apologize if this is in the wrong place. I have a website aaaaaaaa.com/Forums. If you type the /forums (The F not capital) it won't go. Is there a way to direct anyone that types /forum, /forums, or /Forum to the proper /Forums link?

    Thank you so much! :frantic:

    If it were me personally, I'd want the lowercase f. Most people will type that, simply because...well, they're lazy.

    That would be how you'd do it in .htaccess. You'd write similar rules for /forum and /Forum and /FoRuM and any other ridiculous thing people may type.

    While looking around the forums I had hoped you in particular would see this and respond. I'm all self taught and this is a little beyond my knowledge but I will look around and see if I can't figure it out when I return from vacation. Would it be alright to pm you if I have a question?

    Sure, dude, but to be honest I'm not sure I'm the guy in this case. I've only played with .htaccess a little bit (primarily a Windows guy).

    There are people such as Ronald Roe, RDesignista, AlphaMare and maybe a few others that would probably be better able to help you in this case.

    Yeah I'm lost. Lol
    My website is puresteeze.com/Forums but like I said I want to be able to type /forums or even /forum
    I've tried:

    #302 Redirect Old File
    Redirectmatch 302 /forums puresteeze.com/Forums/

    #301 Redirect Old File
    Redirectmatch 301 http://puresteeze.com/forums/ http://puresteeze.com/Forums/

    I guess first things first - do I want to edit the htaccess file in the root, or the htaccess file that is in the folder with my Forums?

    Any tips or ideas?

    Try this in the .htaccess file for the forums directory:

    Options +FollowSymLinks
    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteRule (.*) http://www.puresteeze.com/Forums/$1 [R=301,L]

    This .htaccess method of redirection works ONLY on Linux servers having the Apache Mod-Rewrite module enabled - check with your hosting service to make sure these conditions are being met..

    Here is the htaccess file (located in the forums directory) currently with that added:

    #
    # Uncomment the statement below if you want to make use of
    # HTTP authentication and it does not already work.
    # This could be required if you are for example using PHP via Apache CGI.
    #
    #<IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    #RewriteEngine on
    #RewriteRule .* - [E=HTTP_AUTHORIZATION:%{HTTP:Authorization},L]
    #</IfModule>

    <Files "config.php">
    Order Allow,Deny
    Deny from All
    </Files>

    <Files "common.php">
    Order Allow,Deny
    Deny from All
    </Files>

    Options +FollowSymLinks
    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteRule (.*) http://www.puresteeze.com/Forums/$1 [R=301,L]

    -------------
    It didn't work (It actually made the /Forums not work at all. Got errors) - Based on the "RewriteEngine On" line and the one after, however, I assume that it is enabled. Just a guess though.

    RewriteEngine on
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^.*$
    RewriteRule ^forums$ "http\:\/\/www\.puresteeze\.com\/Forums\/" [R=301,L]

    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^.*$
    RewriteRule ^Forum$ "http\:\/\/www\.puresteeze\.com\/Forums\/" [R=301,L]

    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^.*$
    RewriteRule ^forum$ "http\:\/\/www\.puresteeze\.com\/Forums\/" [R=301,L]

    RewriteOptions inherit

    # Use PHP5 Single php.ini as default
    AddHandler application/x-httpd-php5s .php

    **********************
    Works now with this. Problem solved. Thanks for all of the help!!
