Exclamation I need a website host, for free - $5

    Hello,
I am hosting a new website and my previous web host I used turned inactive.
So please could someone help me find I new host.

I'm looking for a decent host either for Free or $5 max, reason why It's not a reasonably high price is because I need to test things out.

The specifications I am looking for is (around doesn't have to be exact):
    - 20 GB or more Disk Space
    - 150 GB Bandwidth
    - PHP 5.4
    - High uptime, 99%
    - Free email account
    - Custom error pages
    - 5+ SQL Databases
    - Phpmyadmin access
    - No advertisements on my site
    - .htaccess support
    - Good live support or fast ticket reply
    - Good feedback/trusted site
    - Not a YouHosting Reseller
    Optional: Auto install on cpanel

    Thank you everyone!

P.S, Advertise what you want to me as long as it has what required please

If you want something cheap with those specs, and don't really care about performance being *amazing* or anything, the cheapest GoDaddy will give you 10x 1GB MySQL databases and PHP 5.4. I've had to contact their phone support before for a client and it wasn't a bad experience either.

The only thing I'd say is buy your domain name somewhere else. Never mix hosting provider and domain name registrar if you can help it.

I hate GoDaddy, they were such a bad host to me. I would however go back to them than to a free host. You get what you pay for! And while GoDaddy cost money you do get some sort of reliability for the money. Hosting is a very important expense. Pay the money and get a good host.

I moved from GoDaddy over to SectorLink which was recommended by a mod here. So far so good. Hell even the migration went smooth! It took me up to 48hours to move my site from one GoDaddy server to another. Yet it less than 10minutes for my site to transition over to SectorLink. Seeing how slow/bad GD was to me I am giving that credit all to SectorLink.

I have a VPS with them which is a little more than your $5 max, but I do believe that they offer cloud hosting starting at around $5.

Well...Vapr_Arts covered my Sectorlink recommendation quite well.

It's like seeing me talk without me actually saying anything.

Speaking of sectorlink. I took you're suggestion and started hosting with them on all my new projects a while back. All I have to say is Best. Host. Ever.

I started with them the end of last year and so far I love them. The more I look back the more I see how money-hungry GoDaddy was.

See, now you guys know why you should always listen to me.

Seriously, you're going to run into one unsolvable problem. Every time one of your clients picks a GoDaddy or a HostGator to host their sites with, you're going to deal with the inferior support and want to stab at your own eyes with a pencil.

Three EIG hosts, a host that loses databases, and one with which no one seems to have any experience. Not exactly a solid top 5.
