    Talking Domain name issue

    Hello Web Designers!

I am new to this forum, so excuse me if this thread has been opened before.

I am making a website to use as a portfolio during my studies. I bought a domain name and everything is right so far except one thing:

If you write the domain name only (ex: www.XYZ.com) you get a blank page.

To access the home page, you must write www.XYZ.com/home.

But I don't want people to think later that the website is down, and also, no one use slashes and extensions while accessing a website.

    Could that issue be resolved?

If you need some more onformation please let me know.

Did you upload your content to a "/home" folder via FTP?

Unfortunately, that's one of those questions that could have any number of answers (misconfigured default page, hosting error, you didn't upload to the right folder, .htaccess or web.config issue, etc.) It probably could be resolved, but not likely within the context of a web forum. It usually requires server access.

    Thanks for your reply,

I thought it is something simple.

Anyway, I will contact a web designer I know first thing tomorrow!

    Cheers!

When you think it is, it never is. When you think it isn't, it may be.

Hope it works out for you.

Is this a Wordpress site? It sounds like a question asked by several beginning Wordpress users. If it is, this needs to be in the Wordpress section of the forum. If not, a lot more info is needed.
