    Web Design class

    Hello - new here! :-)

I was finally able to get a copy of Dreamweaver for my home computer, rather then go to my college and be distracted by other students in a computer lab. I have a couple of questions now that I am away from other students to compare notes with.

Still learning about Dreamweaver, but when my class is finished for the semester I desire to continue building up skills and hope to create my own websites.

In your opinion, what are the best hosting sites out there now?

Also, with hosting comes fees to place your sites in the public eye... what do you do to lower your costs, do you contact other sites to put banners on your websites or other ideas?

    Thank you!

First question answered: . Prices are reasonable, the service hasn't gone down for me in years, and the techs that are involved in the company are extremely good at what they do.

Second question: i think you're confusing lowering costs with increasing revenue. They both have the same net effect; they both increase profitability. They're two different paths to the same destination. If you're talking advertising, it really depends on the site I'm working on, but it all begins with quality content. People will link to things that are worth linking to.

One thing: you'll want to get off DW long-term, and in the short term use the code view as much as possible. DW has a real tendency toward bloated code and I'm mildly surprised that there's still a school out there that offers it as either part of or the entirety of a course.
