I would appreciate it if you veterans could check out my new (personal) site and offer constructive criticism! :nervous:

I have heard that it may load kind of slow (maybe the server, cause my graphics files are all pretty small).

    Thanks in advance for input!

I presumne it is the site in your signature?

If so, I get a timeout error.

yes, it is in the sig.

I don't know why you get the timeout error, but you're not the first person that has told me that. Others have had no problems.

    My advice:
Center the site and put a border around the whole thing. Having it hanging on the left side doesn't seem to work aesthetically these days.
Then change the links so they don't open in a popup window. You should be able to construct regular pages that follow the same layout of the home page for all those links.

Not everybody wants to look at a website and having some dude looking you in the face, especially when its supposed to be kinda scary.

its his personal site it only makes sense to have him on the front page.

i agree with eddys ideas to fix it up though. make the center a frame and just tell the links to load the page in that frame

I didn't mean anything bad by it - I meant possibly the direct location of the picture on the page might be a bad place for it.

It's a cool picture of him indeed, but when I view the site I feel like I'm being watched since it is shoved immediately next to the content.

    Maybe it's just me.

Good point - I think a change of color would be nice as well, brown just isn't my thing.

lars - you definitely have a good start to your website. i like your ideas, such as the vertical text on the subpages.

a little bit of work and your site could be a good one.

I like it. It is visually appealing and simple, not to much text. The graphics are cool. I am not a big fan of ENTER pages(just another click on the old mouse). The photos opening in a new slide show window are neat and well thought of. Your contact link only works if my email program is tied to my browser, which it is not. Very nice site.
