    Hi everyone,

I've just completed a major site overhaul... so what do you think?

    http://www.filelight.com/

The site is a software search engine/directory.

Looks a lot like every other search engine I've seen. You should try to match the hues in the logo and the top banner more closely. Overall, it looks really nice, except for the color I just mentioned.

Thanks for your comment! What color depth is your monitor set to? I'm just curious because the colors look identical on my LCD monitor.

I agree with Kurt, and I have millions of colors.

Also, the font on your header is hard to read, as is the bold font on the Search FileLight button.

When you say "header" what do you mean?

Just took a look at your site again. I like the concept a lot, and it is very easy to navigate. However you do need to change that color problem... You can't count on everyone's monitors being calibrated the same way. Just take it into Photoshop and make sure the hues are the same in the HSV sliders. You might also try using alias text on the buttons because they are a little blurry.

    Kurt,

I'm still confused by what you mean when you say...

"match the hues in the logo and the top banner"

Do you mean that the background of the logo is not matching the light grey color of the top portion of the site (#F1F1F1)?

No, the lighthouse's hue does not match the hue of the bar that has the snowflakes.

Oh! Well I planned it so the hues would be different - to offset the logo with the bar. I am planning on putting the bar back to just a gradient w/o the snowflakes very soon.

Do you really think the hues are necessary to change?

Also, what improvements would you like to see with usability/functionality?
