I just finished the layout and coding(tables but I am tring to change to div) and would like some feedback. The font is still questionable but that is what the client wants.

    Thanks.

I don't know which fonts are supposed to be on all computers, but is that one of them? You can always have a backup font, but the client should know if anyone will be able to see it with that font.

I would remove the bookmark sign. I personaly find it annoying when websites want you to bookmark them. If I want to bookmark it I will, and if I don't, I won't.

I would make the top header smaller, and move the navigation up. You want the viewer to get alot of information clearly, and quickly.

On the navigation, 'heritage' confused me. is that the history of the art center? maybe you should say history.

I would put a blank space inbetween certian parts of the navigation to divide it and make it more clear to see. I would put the blank spaces inbetween 'home' and 'exhibits', and 'heritige' and 'rental'. I think this divides it up into a more logical way.

The page looks sorta 'geocities-ish' too. There are many resources on this site that can help you.

    Ouch..Geocities-ish..yeah you are right Kefka.
The font that is shown is not standard but I do have a second font. I have moved the nav up also (alot of wasted space you are right)

I am going to disagree with the bookmark however, if you ask people to book mark your site they will at least think about it.

This site is for a non-profit org and they will not have anyone to look after it when it is finished so it needs to be simple and clean. I trying for navagation and content(content being easy to add month to month)

But thank you Kefka for your feedback.(this is my first website that I have designed, and I have not taken any courses in it except W3schools)

Additonal feedback is welcome, as you can see I need help. This is their current site so anything I do will be an improvement.

    1. You don't need courses to make web sites.

    Suggestions:
    2. I'd work on the logo. It looks like something out of microsoft word.
    3. Get rid of the mapquest map and make one instead.
    4. White text on a black background is harder to read.
    5. Use only standard easy to read fonts for the selectable text.
    6. Get rid of the the last updated date found in the footer because it will make the site look old.

    I hope these suggestions help.

    Thank you Zionlocke

The logo is only will be changed(I hope, they said an artist is going to make one)

The map is also going, the local tourism site is on that.

The text color I agree but they like it and I am currently going though fonts now.

    Last updated gone.
I have made a few changes (not much yet, the logos and images will be changed before it goes live)

    Thanks again.

I recommend arial, verdana, or georgia.

While some on this forum would yell at me for saying anything other than Arial, I would recommend Georgia as this site's font. It is close to the oldness look you are trying for. Be sure to include arial on the list after georgia in your css file.

I will post the link when the site is live. Thanks again

i think you should get rid of th tables
if you are going to use those buttons which personally, i dont think are attractive
you should try make the whole page more uniform
and also you should make all the pages uniform so
you could also present the picture a bit better
maybe put it in a frame

i suggest some type of theme
for example put it all imside a building
or on an old manuscript might be nice

and remember, just because ptting things in a table makes layout easy, you dont have to show us the tables

^ You looked at the old site that the new design is replacing. Look at the attached screenshot on the first post.
