flashier looking site

Hi huys, I've been looking around the forum and have picked up a lot of great tips but was just wondering what other people think of the design of my site. It is a personal site and I make no money whatsoever from it and am not intending to. Just would be cool to see what people think and maybe offer suggestions on how I can improve the site to make it look less plain and boring

Try some images, maybe as backgrounds to different areas of your site. Don't use too many, but a few could help.

Color. Have some gray or tan or orange (or whatever matches) areas of color.

See if you can center your site. That helps it look less "awkward."

Use less center alignment. Add some color/contrast even at the very least a picture combined with your header. Webpage hit counters are tacky. Maybe just one PayPal Donate button. 800x600 display has a little horizontal scroll, for such small content. Add a decription as to why the page exists, maybe under the header. Put content above the Bookmark/Default/Donate links. Maybe round the edges of the border and use some shading for depth.
