I'm not sure what or how to add more content to a game site I just set up. My forums are not that big yet so it doesn't feel right having a "latest forum posts " box on the main page. I haven't mastered things like RSS feeds or creating a news letter or member sections yet so I've been going with the basic news & info site with a few extras. (You can't really get an RSS feed exclusively for military games anyway so I've been posting each news piece myself, btw)

Anyway, for now I'm going with the KISS (Keep It Simple Stupid) approach since I am stupid, ha, until my web skills improve. (takes time). I'm currently debating whether I should spruce up my main page with an eye catching movie semi-related to the sites content. Right now it just has a short list of up coming game releases and snippets from their descriptions. This is the main page I'm using now:

    http://warlikeway.com

And here is what I'm considering for the main page instead:

Warning: the movie animation MAY be a little graffic for some people.

    http://www.warlike.ms11.net/movie.html

The thing is I really like the LOOK of the animation and the way it fits on the main page and how it turns a dull page into something more attractive or memorable but I'm concerned its content may put off some people, I even find it a little too crude at some points. But I can't find a decent enough replacement animation that is both related to my sites' content and enhances its appearance as well. So as you can see, I'd would welcome any suggestions and or advice. Thanks.

I added a table text link menu above the flash one, slightly decreased the hover OVERLINE underline (xzworks, you just see an underline?), and will tone down the colors soon.

    Jason,

I'm hesitating about moving "all of the normal style sheet onto the external one" because my web skills in css aren't that great and I'm afraid of getting in over my head right now and ruining my layout. I suppose I can practice "offline", though, in notepad.

    put <link rel="stylesheet" type="text/css"
href="filename.css" /> in the head of the site. copy and paste your css into a notepad file and save it with the .css extension. The .css file is not an html file or anything, so don't include the doctype or body or any of that stuff into the file, just your classes, ID's and that stuff.

You can search google for more in depth information. Your site might get temporarily messed up if you do it wrong, but remember that all of your css is in a new file. You can just copy and paste it back in where you had it in the first place. And as you said you can test it offline too.

Now that you have the new navigation, do you still need the old navigation?
