I havent started coding yet, right now im just looking for layout criticism, color choice, etc...
Theres a few things i should note.

    1. I realize the site doesnt really say what, or why it is, but im working on that. Im thinking about puttting a banner across the top of the curve that has some kind of quirky descriptive note about the nature of the site. (which would be portfolio/blog/web design site)

    2. I kinda wanted the main content area to have a worn edges look, like a worn sheet of paper. Right now, it just solid white.

    3. The main navigation bar looks kinda plain. I wanted to have the links become red or "lit-up" on mouse-over. That being said, i was originally gonna do this all in HTML/CSS with some javascript thrown in for good measure.

    4. I have little to no idea what im going to use as headers for the two side bars. Right now the text that's there is what i want the content to be, but it feels like it could use some sort of graphical element above both side columns.

So please be kind, im getting back into web design after a few months away, and just wanted a place to house my creations. Thanks to all....slyder - Ramblings of an amateur web designer - An online community for the positively childfree

the main layout is nice, but If it were me I would incorporate your adsense ads within your actual blog content, probbly get a higher click through on it. other then that maybe make the main layout a little brighter more fun to browse.
