    If you're looking for ways to change your site's look, different style sheets would do the trick. For a good example of multiple style sheets in action, check out jravenscroft's entry in this month's WDF contest. It won't change your layout, but it will change your site's look.

    I'm on a free website provider and it doesn't have PHP, is there anything else I can do with HTML?

    I like a clean mix between the two...

    What I've started doing as standard procedure is do this:

    -create one stylesheet that keeps basic formatting of text/links that's linked to in every page.

    -make a header and footer file that I include in the page.
    you can do this with either server-side technology such as ASP, PHP, etc or just do a simple javascript function that you call at the beginning and end of every page...

    Just remember if you're makinga function or calling in an included header to pass along title/meta information to that function/file so your pages still have unique titles/meta information!

    Instead of PHP include, you can use shtml. Same idea, but doesn't require anything to be installed on the host.

    Okay, could we assume that I'm a complete moron for a moment and could you explain shtml..I've heard of it before, but I'm not sure of exactly how it works or what it is.

    Is it like a way to just do the code for my layout on one page and then link it to every other page?

    Yup, that's exactly what shtml is. Make an html file with your navigation in it, and on your page where you want your nav to appear, insert
    Code:
    <!-- # include file="whateveryouwant.shtml" -->
    You can use this for more than just nav, and you can use this multiple times in one page.
