Not speaking spanish, I don't really know what this site is all about, but from a pure design standpoint, I have to say I found it a little flat and uinteresting. The banner is ok but not very inspiring, but mainly the rest of all the pages are boring to look at. I think the use of some headings and sub headings and perhaps some additional support graphics would go a long way to making things visually more appealing. The landing page is however very nice, unfortunately I dont much care for entry pages unless they're there to offer me a choice, or headline some important information.
    End of Line.

Thanks for your quick answer. To straight things out the site is Portuguese not Spanish and itīs a project that will have music and written opinions in the future. I agree on the pages being boring so tips on spicing them up are welcome. Greets from Portugal.

I'm terribly sorry for confusing the language with spanish, but to the untrained eye they do look very similar. I was once rescued from a tropical typhoon, by the Portugese minister for tourism on the Island of Macau, so I have nothing but good things to say about Portgal and it's citizens.
    End of Line.

Meanwhile I came back from portugal with pneumonia and had to be in hospital for a week .

    Anyhoo, design wise:

Splash page seems rather pointless, you dont have any flash there, the only reason I feel for using a splash page is to give the user the option to skip it.

Right, onto the main site design...

content box, i feel, should be changed to white, and then the text color, should be changed to black. Change your background color so the white contrasts.

Change the navigation bar to be the same navy colour as the bottom blue bar.

I'd also change the top graphic so that the same radius is used for it for the rounded corners as the rest of the design.

Thanks Holy Promethium, Iīll try your advice and post here after. About the splash page the only reason itīs there is because that image has to be shown and the only place where it wouldnīt hurt much was in a splash page. More tips are welcome.

P.S. Did you like Portugal? Where did you go?

Right, tips for the splash page (seeing as its mandatory ). Perhaps an all white background, no blue rounded rectangle, entrance link, as usual, displaying your website's name might be an idea. Just so they know where they are.

Algarve, was nice, found this lovely restaurant café thing in the mountains... Didnt like the run in with the grass snake on the last day though . (nobody in my family is fond of snakes...) Parents are going back this summer, I've got lots of stuff to do though, that and 2 weeks alone in the house with peace and quiet is quite a nice holiday anyway .

I did some changes to the site and I would like to hear your opinion on it. All kind of (constructive) criticism and suggestions are welcome.

Whats to say he's from portugal?

Do they not also speak Portugese in Brazil? lol

    Anyway...Let's get to it.

    The good
    • Nice colours and a good sharp image on your banner (If it is a little bit big)
    • Bold text that contrasts well with the background.
    The bad
    • Although your text is nice and bold and contrasts well, it seems a little too bunched together and cramped. Also, visitors tend not to read big blocks of text so you might want to trim it down. That said, I know nothing of the portugese language so that giant block of text could translate to "Welcome to my site" I just don't know.
    • Your navigation needs to be more promenant, I hardly noticed it. Make some nice buttons or style some text or <li> tags to make a nice navigation.
    • The number one mistake you have made here is you have used frames! For that, I hope you stand in a big steaming dog turd on the way home today.
    My suggestions
    • Do some research into modern web standards such as semantic markup and CSS. I will list some helpful URLs at the bottom of this post.
    • Keep the graphic, it's nice. But other than that, start from scratch with your new modern skills.
