    Please can some people take a look.It was given a makeover a little over 2 years ago by a professional at a very reasonable rate-and since then I have tinkered it into different shapes- but I have had little feedback apart from the occasional compliment.
    Obviously something critical or even disparaging would be very welcome.

    Firstly, Welcome to WDF.

    Site looks nice, pretty professional.

    A couple of things from a visual standpoint...

    * The rollover effect on your main Nav could be a little less subtle. The colour change is hardly even noticable...

    May want to up the quality on your main graphic. It looks a little blurry
    No ma'am, we in IT don't have a sense of humor we're aware of.

    thanks a lot.I thought that was meant to be blurry.I am happier now.
    But the Nav setup is going to take a little bit of going into as I think I have to open the css file (or is it a js file?) but I see what you mean.

    To change the hover color in your CSS code find the item below and change the color. The hover color is set to #000066, you can use a color wheel to find a new color and change it in your CSS.

    Code:
    a.menuOver1:hover {
    	text-decoration: none;
    	color : #000066;
    	font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    	font-size: 11px;
    	font-weight: bold;
    }

    thanks for your help
    I did what you said and changed
    a.menuOver1:hover {
    text-decoration: none;
    color : #000066;
    font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    font-size: 11px;
    font-weight: bold;
    }
    to
    a.menuOver1:hover {
    text-decoration: none;
    color : #
    0033CC

    ;
    font-family: Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif;
    font-size: 11px;
    font-weight: bold;
    }
    But I saw no change in the drop down menu even though I clicked on save before refreshing the page
    Are you sure I don't have to alter the js file? (mm_menu.js)
    Or maybe its another section of the css code?

    Yes, I still see the color: #000066; in your CSS file. It may not have taken the new value when you saved it. I can change the link color when I edit the CSS file live in Firefox. Maybe try it again, and are you sure you have the correct CSS file?

    "Comments and descriptions from our Customers" Lacks credibility. Add full names, and possibly photos.

    thanks for that comment.
    It is pretty deliberate though as I don't like using their quotes and in fact don't use the best ones as they are a bit emotional.After all it is a fairly private guest book that I ask people to sign when they leave and I don't like to use their entry without permission.
    If I don't give the name then in a way I am not betraying their confidence.
    I could ask of course and then it is a little awkward
    I do have a little spot on the site where I ask previous guests to say how they enjoyed their stay (on the /good_hotel.html page) and to post it on Tripadvisor

    thanks for the offer.Actually I did all the editing on my own computer (as I would normally before uploading) and I tried it a few times.
    As I have saved the file my PC I don't mind if you have a go as you have offered but I didn't think it was possible to do that without the password.I was surprised even that the css file could be read on your computer.....
    There is only 1 css file on the site-called croc.css.It wasn't me who set it up and I wonder if most of it is redundant but I never worked on it

    No, didn't mean I could change the actual file on your server. I meant I used a Firefox extension which allows editing of the CSS file in real time locally on my PC. I can't change your CSS without your servers username and password, as you correctly thought.
