May I have your opinion please...

I'm just beginning to be content with most of the designs I come up with now. I would like your opinion on my first portfolio concept. Keep in mind that it's just an image, not a working page yet.

Well there isn't too much to comment on yet, what you do with the white space is important for the design, but of what you have so far:

- I'm not a fan of the font you chose for the nav, or the color. Personally, I'd like to see the text in black.

- The drawing of what I'm guessing is you is cool, but it would look better with more detail I think.

- The greater-than sign you have is serving no purpose right now, and it just looks odd. Unless you tie it into the site better and prove that it's crucial, I'd get rid of it. It's the only thing that looks pixelated on the whole site.

I agree with spluffdaddy... my suggestion to you is to change the font of the nav bar and maybe the color of too.... try with black.

But, will it be a flash based site or a html based site?

Nice design BUT:
1. Try to change font face and SIZE
2. Make the ">" smaller
3. More details on the man at right.
4. How about putting a light gray for a background rather than simple white ?

The man face is on the left, is not on the right
But you shouldnt put the man there unless you are that old. People will think you very old
for me the Font in the Nav is ok, better to change it , if you dont want its k to keep it.
But the only thing that your page looks so simple. try to make up your page more than instead.

Thanks for all the comments. The line drawing is me...and no I'm not THAT old. I'll make that a 2-tone deal. Of course...I might take it out...makes me look kind of evil. Here is the link to the DA deviation that I used it for: http://www.deviantart.com/deviation/1480651

I am surprised nobody liked the font in the nav...it's verdana. I may just make the navigation text links for simplicity.

And yes...there will be some flash in there. I'll keep everyone posted as to the progress.

I didnt say that i dont like font, it's ok if you want to keep it. Other font may looks better.

Good start. Nav items are too large, and there's not enough to it. Add a banner and some content and bring it back for review again.
